Facebook: How to See How Your Profile Looks Like to Specific Friends

Given how Facebook has given so much power to all its users to control what others can see of what each one posts on the social networking site, naturally not everyone can keep track of what he or she has posted over time and what settings he or she has used for each post. Thankfully, Facebook itself has included a little known feature that allows users to see how their profiles look like to others.

This tutorial will show users how simple it actually is to see that a particular friend never gets to see the picture you uploaded which you never expected him or her to see.

Please note the date of this article as Facebook is always making tweaks to its systems and this post may not be relevant after a period of time.

Step 1:
Go to your profile page. Find the Activity Log button on the right hand side of the page just below the Timeline cover. Click on the inverted arrowhead at the end of the button.

Step 2:
This will bring down a menu. Highlight and click the View as... option as shown below.

At the upper left-hand corner of a page, a form box will appear that says Enter a friend's name. Insert the cursor and type in the name of any friend you wish to check.

If you change your mind, you can always go back to your Timeline using the Back to Timeline button at the opposite end of the page.

Step 3:
In the form box mentioned earlier, begin to type the name of a friend. Facebook will drop down a list of friends for you to choose from. Simply highlight and click on the name of a friend on whom you wish to test your privacy settings. Alternatively, you may hit Enter on your keyboard.

Step 5:
Scroll down the rest of the page to see how your profile looks like to this friend. Repeat the process to test how other friends see your profile.
